Course Report

Tom Doak joked about installing a zip line across the pond by the 7th hole, but the presence of alligators made that idea too risky.

About

Streamsong Blue, designed by Tom Doak, is a visually striking, strategically challenging 18-hole course set amid reclaimed mining land, with dramatic sand dunes, rolling fairways, and contoured greens. The course channels a links-inspired experience unique in Florida and is considered one of the premier golf destinations in the USA, acclaimed for its playability and architectural intrigue.

Caddie Tip

Streamsong Blue rewards thoughtful navigation—avoid being overly aggressive off the tee, as the wide fairways often flow into large dunes and deep bunkers. Pay close attention to your approach angles, as many greens have significant contours and run-offs, especially in windy conditions. The best strategy is to leave yourself below the hole whenever possible.

The Main Challenge

The layout’s biggest challenge is managing the wind and handling the bold green complexes, which are heavily contoured and offer challenging run-offs. Large, deep bunkers and wide, undulating fairways demand strong course management, especially when the prevailing breeze intensifies. Missed greens often lead to tough recovery shots.

The Good

Golfers consistently rave about the dramatic mining land contours, excellent shot variety, and the sense of isolation on each hole. Streamsong Blue delivers an authentic links-like experience rarely found in Florida, with bold design choices and wide strategic fairways that make every round unique and memorable.

The Not So Good

Pace of play can sometimes lag during peak times, and the openness of the course means play can be affected by strong winds. Some golfers wish for even more distinction between the Blue and Red courses due to their similar proximity and visual style.
