Course Report

The course is set at 6,200 feet of elevation, which means golf balls travel farther through the cool mountain air—up to 10% more distance compared to sea level.

About

Teton Pines Country Club is a private Arnold Palmer Signature course nestled at the base of the Teton Mountains just outside Jackson Hole. Opened in 1987, the 18-hole layout spans 7,412 yards from the championship tees and features beautiful views, abundant wildlife, and challenging water hazards. The club is known for its mountain scenery, strong design, and top-tier amenities.

Caddie Tip

Keep your tee shots below the tree line, as the mountain winds can affect ball flight, especially on back nine holes. Water hazards come into play on multiple holes, so conservative strategy and careful club selection are rewarded. The greens can be quick—stay below the hole when possible.

The Main Challenge

Strategic water hazards and deep bunkers demand accuracy off the tee and on approaches. Fast, undulating greens reward precise putting but can frustrate those above the hole. At altitude, judging yardages is tricky, and shifting winds can quickly change a hole’s difficulty.

The Good

Golfers love the setting at the base of the Tetons—the dramatic mountain scenery is visible from nearly every hole and elevates the experience into something truly memorable. The Arnold Palmer routing offers strong variety, with challenging but fair holes, and the overall club atmosphere feels relaxed yet refined.

The Not So Good

The course can get soggy after rain given its valley floor routing, with drainage occasionally an issue in shoulder season. Some golfers wish for broader guest access; tee times for non-members are very limited and carry a high guest fee.
