Course Report

The Idaho Club is the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Course in Idaho.

About

The Idaho Club is Idaho’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, opened in 2008 and set amid the dramatic landscapes of Moose Mountain and the Lower Pack River. The 18-hole layout features tight, tree-lined fairways, plentiful water hazards, dramatic elevation changes, and striking mountain views. Designed for all skill levels, this scenic course is a top regional golf destination.

Caddie Tip

Stay below the hole on approach shots—Idaho Club greens are fast, undulating, and punishing if you’re above the cup. Position tee shots carefully on tight landing zones to avoid water and marsh. Play conservatively off the tee where forced carries and doglegs bring risk; smart course management is critical to post a good score.

The Main Challenge

The Idaho Club’s difficulty stems from its fast, heavily sloped greens, plentiful water hazards, and frequent forced carries. Precision off the tee is essential as many fairways are tight and doglegged. You must be able to shape shots, manage risk, and stay mentally tough to avoid big numbers on this testy layout.

The Good

Golfers rave about the scenic beauty surrounding every hole, with mountain vistas, wooded corridors, and water features creating memorable playing conditions. The well-maintained, undulating greens are a highlight, offering a challenging but rewarding experience for those who love fast greens and expert course conditioning.

The Not So Good

Some players have reported pace of play issues, especially during busy periods or behind slower member groups. The tight layout and numerous forced carries can also be daunting for higher handicappers, who may wish for more spacious landing areas or forward tee options.
