Course Report
The International is one of very few Dutch courses built with height differences up to 14 meters, providing rare elevation changes for the region and panoramic views from the modern clubhouse designed by Piet Boon.
About
The International Golf Club, designed by Ian Woosnam and Mastergolf in 2012, is regarded as one of the premier courses in the Netherlands. Set on 77 acres of hilly terrain with water hazards and challenging bunkering, it offers a visually striking and strategic inland links-style layout, with a luxurious clubhouse and extensive practice facilities.
Caddie Tip
Beware water hazards on the 3rd, 4th, and 18th—do not bite off more than you can chew, especially from the back tees. Use the wind to your advantage and favor accuracy over distance on every approach. Greens are fast and multi-tiered, so play below the hole whenever possible.
The Main Challenge
The greatest challenge lies in navigating the numerous water hazards, especially on the 3rd, 4th, and finishing holes. Subtle elevation changes, strategic bunkering, and risk-reward opportunities on several holes demand course management and smart club selection throughout.
The Good
Golfers praise the combination of modern, challenging design and exclusive atmosphere, with panoramic views from the beautifully appointed clubhouse terrace. The elevation changes and water hazards provide compelling shot values and scenery, making each round memorable.
The Not So Good
Some players note accessibility can be restrictive due to the private nature of the club and high guest fees. Occasional proximity to Schiphol Airport means aircraft noise may disrupt the tranquility, particularly on holes that border the property.
Signature Hole:
#
18
The par-5 18th is a risk-reward finisher with water in play and a dramatic approach to a green guarded by both hazards and bunkers. This hole offers both scoring opportunities and danger, demanding decision-making off the tee. It captures the essence of the course’s strategic design in a memorable closing stretch.
Clubhouse
A state-of-the-art modern clubhouse features a gourmet restaurant, fitness and wellness center, luxurious changing rooms, multiple lounges, and terrace views over the course. Ample parking and contemporary interiors by renowned designer Piet Boon complete the experience.
Practice Facilities
The International offers a full-featured driving range, short game area, academy, and large putting green. Top instruction is available along with on-site rentals, ensuring new and experienced golfers have access to everything they need for preparation.
