Course Report

TPC Jasna Polana was built on the former estate of Johnson & Johnson heir John Seward Johnson I and features a neoclassical mansion converted to a stately clubhouse, accented by a renowned art collection.

About

TPC Jasna Polana, designed by Gary Player, is an exclusive private club set on a former estate in Princeton, New Jersey. The course features a dramatic parkland layout known for meticulous conditioning, rolling fairways, water hazards, and a majestic neoclassical mansion as the clubhouse. As part of the PGA Tour’s TPC network, it offers elite service and championship-level play.

Caddie Tip

Focus on positioning off the tee, especially on dogleg holes; the greens are fast and slope significantly back to front, so favor an uphill leave whenever possible. Don’t be aggressive with putts above the hole—most putts break more than they look, especially on signature holes 3 and 18.

The Main Challenge

The course’s toughest aspects include demanding forced carries over creeks, tight tree-lined holes, and fast, contoured greens. Holes 3 and 18 stand out for their risk/reward options, but nearly every approach demands careful placement and consideration of water, bunkers, and green slopes.

The Good

Golfers love the blend of classic estate ambiance, pristine conditions, and an exceptionally designed layout by Gary Player. The finishing holes are both beautiful and challenging, and the stately mansion clubhouse offers a grand, historic backdrop for post-round relaxation.

The Not So Good

Some members and guests desire more flexibility for walking the course, as the layout and routing can make walking challenging. A few visitors find the rough and hazards penal for mid-level players, and occasional slow pace of play during busy club events is noted.

#

18

The par-5 18th at TPC Jasna Polana is a spectacular finishing hole measuring 494 yards, demanding a powerful drive down a slope to set up a possible second shot at the green. Players must navigate a creek meandering in front of the large, elevated green and a deep protective bunker, with a sharply sloped putting surface challenging even the best approach.

Clubhouse

No items found.

The neoclassical mansion clubhouse includes fine and casual dining, spacious locker rooms, private lounges, art displays, and event facilities. Overnight accommodations, meeting spaces, and a full-service pro shop further elevate the member and guest experience.
