Course Report

Chickasaw Pointe’s two nines run out over separate peninsulas, offering panoramic lake views on both halves of the round.

About

Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club, designed by Randy Heckenkemper, sits atop bluffs overlooking Lake Texoma. Renowned for its picturesque lake views, rolling fairways, and challenging layout, it features meticulously maintained Bermuda fairways and modern greens. Consistently ranked among Oklahoma’s top public courses, it provides strategic play for all skill levels and excellent practice facilities.

Caddie Tip

Focus on smart tee shot placement, especially on the many doglegs and holes with bunkers protecting ideal landing spots. Pay close attention to elevation changes and swirling lake winds, which add challenge on approach shots—club up on uphill holes and read putts carefully, as greens can be deceptively quick and subtly sloped.

The Main Challenge

The greatest challenge lies in navigating the rolling terrain and shot placement on several demanding par 4s and long par 3s. Wind is often a factor due to the open lakeside setting, making club selection and approach strategy essential. The strategic bunkering and subtly contoured greens will test accuracy and your short game.

The Good

Golfers rave about the stunning lake views from nearly every hole and the course's memorable setting along the bluffs of Lake Texoma. The layout utilizes the natural terrain beautifully, offering interesting elevation changes and a mix of risk-reward holes that keep both casual golfers and experienced players engaged throughout the round.

The Not So Good

Some recent players note that while greens and fairways are well-kept overall, pace of play can slow on busy weekends, and bunkers occasionally suffer after heavy rains. A few wish for more on-course water and restroom options for hot Oklahoma summers, as well as improved course signage for first-time visitors.

Signature Hole:

#

6

No items found.

The signature 6th hole is a memorable par 4 that plays dramatically downhill toward Lake Texoma. Framed by postcard-worthy lake vistas and rolling terrain, this dogleg right rewards a well-placed tee shot but punishes miscalculations with strategic bunkering and sloping fairways, making it a standout among Oklahoma public course holes.

Clubhouse

No items found.

Expect a welcoming clubhouse with a well-stocked pro shop, locker rooms, and the Hilltop Grill serving breakfast and lunch. The grill is popular for its burgers and friendly service. Indoor and patio seating overlook the course and lake. Event space, staff club fitting, and lessons are available.

Practice Facilities

No items found.

The club offers a full driving range, large putting green, and short-game area for chipping and bunker practice. These facilities are praised for their good condition and proximity to the clubhouse, making them convenient for pre-round warm-up or sharpening different parts of your game.
