Course Report

Costa Caribe was the first course in Puerto Rico to feature an island green and has hosted several regional tournaments and charity events.

About

Costa Caribe Golf & Country Club, designed by Bruce A. Besse, Jr., features an 18-hole links-style course with several oceanfront holes and Puerto Rico's first island green. The course is complemented by 14 beautiful lakes, manicured year-round conditions, and offers a wide range of facilities including a modern clubhouse and extensive practice amenities.

Caddie Tip

On the 12th island green par 3, favor the right side if the wind is up and trust your yardage. Many approach shots require clubbing up due to breezes from the Caribbean Sea. Play conservatively on water holes and use local grain knowledge for reading greens.

The Main Challenge

The toughest aspect is managing approach shots on windy days, especially on holes with forced carries and water hazards. The island green 12th and lakeside holes demand strategic club selection and precise execution for low scores.

The Good

Golfers love the panoramic seaside views combined with the course's unique island green and friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The practice facilities, clubhouse amenities, and consistent course conditioning are highly praised by both locals and visitors.

The Not So Good

Some golfers wish for greater variety in hole routing and better drainage in the rainy season. The walk between green and next tee can be long, and occasional slow play is noted during busy weekends.
