Course Report

Galloway National has no residential development, pools, or hotels, staying true to its founders’ vision to focus solely on golf and preserve the natural landscape.

About

Galloway National Golf Club, designed by Tom Fazio in 1995, offers an elite golfing experience along the bays of southern New Jersey. This private, 18-hole course features dramatic elevation changes, a tree-lined layout, and beautiful vistas over Reeds Bay. Renowned for immaculate conditioning and strategic design, it is consistently ranked among America’s top 100 golf courses.

Caddie Tip

Keep approach shots below the pin to avoid lightning-fast, sloping greens. Many holes are exposed to bay winds, demanding precise club selection. Wide fairways reward confident drives, but don’t get greedy—missing the elevated greens often leads to tricky recoveries.

The Main Challenge

Galloway National’s greatest challenge is the combination of fast, elevated greens and unpredictable winds from the bay. The routing demands shotmaking with forced carries, smart course management, and precision both off the tee and into greens. Recovery from missed shots is tough, with thick rough and strategic bunkering.

The Good

Golfers rave about the pure playing surfaces and world-class design, highlighted by dramatic elevation changes, immaculate bentgrass greens, and the quiet, exclusive atmosphere free of residential development. The coastal vistas over Reeds Bay and strategic variety offer many memorable moments.

The Not So Good

Limited availability for guest play and very restrictive policies can make access a challenge. At times, the natural environment’s exposure to wind and unpredictable weather adds difficulty and may affect pace of play or course conditions. Some also wish for enhanced practice facility modernizations.

Signature Hole:

#

18

No items found.

The 18th hole at Galloway National is a par 4 that demands a precise drive and a confident approach to an elevated green, with water and bunkers framing the finish. Its dramatic views over Reeds Bay and its role as the course finale make it both beautiful and highly challenging.

Clubhouse

The clubhouse offers classic, upscale amenities: elegant dining with views over Reeds Bay, private locker rooms, a pro shop, and attentive service. There are no non-golf amenities like pools or fitness centers—everything is focused on golf and member hospitality.

Practice Facilities

No items found.
