Course Report

Jupiter Hills’ elevated, undulating terrain is unusually dramatic for South Florida, giving the course a unique identity amongst otherwise flat landscape courses.

About

Jupiter Hills Club’s Hills Course, designed by George Fazio in 1970 and later refined by Tom Fazio, is a private 18-hole layout featuring rolling terrain rare for Florida. The course is known for its strategic bunkering, challenging greens, and its classic parkland style. One of the most acclaimed courses in Florida, it offers a premier golfing experience for its members.

Caddie Tip

Stay below the hole on approach shots—many greens are severely sloped from back to front and can be extremely quick. The undulating fairways demand precise tee shots, and smart play is rewarded over sheer power. Be wary of the hidden run-offs and aim for the center of the greens when in doubt.

The Main Challenge

The primary challenge at Jupiter Hills (Hills) is negotiating the significant elevation changes—rare for South Florida—which affect both club selection and stance. Fast, sloped greens and strategic bunkering require precise iron play. The closing stretch tests nerves with demanding carries and slippery putting surfaces.

The Good

Golfers consistently praise the Hills Course for its dramatic elevation changes and strategic shot values—features that distinguish it from nearly all other Florida layouts. The course’s privacy and pristine conditions also draw rave reviews, making every round feel like a special occasion for members and their guests.

The Not So Good

Some golfers suggest that the course’s challenge can be overwhelming for higher handicappers, with demanding approach shots and fast, sloping greens. Others wish for increased playing access given the club’s exclusive membership policies and frequency of member-only events.
