Course Report
Losby Golf Club hosted the SAS Masters on the Ladies European Tour in 2007, won by local star Suzann Pettersen.
About
Losby Golf Club, designed by Swedish architect Peter Nordwall, features an 18-hole championship parkland course (Østmork), and a 9-hole supplement (Vestmork). Set 6 km southeast of Lørenskog, the gently undulating terrain offers a scenic woodland backdrop. Renowned for quality greens and regular tournament conditioning, it is one of Norway’s best-upkept and most attractive golfing venues.
Caddie Tip
Accuracy off the tee is important, as several holes are tree-lined or feature water hazards, including the river on the championship course. On the greens, pay attention to subtle breaks and respect the fast pace—many putts here can roll out more than anticipated, especially late in the day.
The Main Challenge
Losby’s biggest challenge is its strategic placement of water hazards and tree-lined fairways, notably on the signature closing holes. Precision off the tee and smart club selection are required throughout, while small, fast greens frequently demand careful approach play and sharp putting skills to avoid three-putts.
The Good
Golfers praise Losby's fantastic course conditions, especially its immaculate greens and fairways. The woodland parkland layout offers beautiful views, a tranquil setting, and a satisfying blend of challenge and playability. Players regularly highlight the warm hospitality and excellent food at the manor’s clubhouse as outstanding parts of their experience.
The Not So Good
Most complaints focus on occasional congestion during peak summer weekends, especially on the first few holes. Players also note that the course’s gently undulating terrain can be demanding for walkers, suggesting more benches and water availability. Some wish for more varied practice targets on the driving range.
Signature Hole:
#
18
The par 4 18th at Losby is a strategic and scenic finishing hole, requiring a well-placed tee shot down a slight dogleg lined by woodland and water. The approach is guarded by bunkers and framed by the clubhouse terrace, providing both challenge and spectacle for players and spectators alike.
Clubhouse
The clubhouse includes an acclaimed restaurant, locker rooms, a golf shop, meeting rooms, and outdoor terraces with woodland views. There’s also a full-service bar, conference facilities, and a manor hotel with 70 rooms, making it one of Norway’s most complete golf destinations.
Practice Facilities
Losby offers a comprehensive 72-bay floodlit range, two large putting greens, and a specialized short game area. The indoor golf center features numerous simulators for year-round play, plus snooker and darts. The facilities are modern, well kept, and cater to both beginners and advanced players.
