Course Report

The club is set within La Mandria Park, once the game reserve of the Savoy royal family, and you may spot protected wildlife roaming the course during your round.

About

Royal Park I Roveri’s Allianz Course, created in 1971 by Robert Trent Jones Sr., winds through the beautiful La Mandria nature reserve near Turin with views of the Alps. The course is renowned for its strategic bunkering, undulating terrain, and immaculate conditions, regularly hosting major events like the Italian Open.

Caddie Tip

Accuracy off the tee is crucial—several holes feature strategic bunkers and water hazards that demand thoughtful navigation. The greens are well-guarded and subtly sloped; favor approach shots to the center of the green for best chances at par, especially with frequent undulation and tricky pin positions.

The Main Challenge

The toughest aspect of Royal Park I Roveri is its combination of water hazards, narrow fairways framed by mature trees, and deep bunkers. The final stretch is especially demanding, requiring both accuracy and strategic shot-making, while quick greens demand precise putting under pressure.

The Good

Golfers consistently praise the course’s immaculate greens, breathtaking natural setting in a nature reserve, and the panoramic views of the Alps. The combination of challenging layout and pristine conditions, plus world-class amenities, makes this one of Italy’s premier golf experiences.

The Not So Good

Some golfers note that rough can be exceptionally penal in summer, and the course’s popularity during peak times can impact pace of play. Occasional maintenance projects tied to hosting events may cause minor temporary disruptions, but overall experience remains highly rated.
