Course Report

TPC Danzante Bay was voted Best Golf Course in Mexico (2020) and Latin America (2019) by World Golf Awards, making it one of the region's most decorated destination courses.

About

TPC Danzante Bay is a stunning 18-hole golf course designed by Rees Jones at the Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa in Loreto. Featuring dramatic cliffside holes, panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez, valleys, arroyos, and dunes, the course offers a unique and challenging golf experience amidst unspoiled Baja landscapes.

Caddie Tip

Keep your tee shots conservative on cliffside holes, especially the back nine. On 17, factor in wind from the Sea of Cortez. Favor accuracy over distance on approaches and pay attention to elevation changes which can affect club selection, especially with swirling breezes off the water.

The Main Challenge

The greatest challenge comes on the cliffside back nine, where swirling winds and dramatic elevation changes demand precise shot-making. The 17th hole especially tests nerve and skill against the backdrop of the Sea of Cortez, while sloping fairways and strategic bunkering require thoughtful strategy throughout the round.

The Good

Golfers rave about the unmatched cliffside scenery and the exhilarating stretch of holes along the Sea of Cortez, especially the 17th. The peaceful isolation, panoramic mountain and bay views, and the dramatic elevation changes combine for a memorable golf adventure.

The Not So Good

Some guests note that the wind can make conditions unpredictable, and occasional maintenance following seasonal aerification can limit play to nine holes. Access for non-resort guests can be restricted, and a few wish for more consistent turf conditions in off-peak times.
