Course Report

TPC Twin Cities was built on the site of a former sod farm and hosts Minnesota’s only regular PGA TOUR event, the 3M Open.

About

TPC Twin Cities is a private, championship golf course in Blaine, Minnesota, designed by Arnold Palmer and Tom Lehman. Set across 235 acres, it features rolling terrain, picturesque wetlands, native grasses, and 27 bodies of water. The course challenges the world's best at the PGA TOUR’s 3M Open, with a modern design and pristine Bentgrass playing surfaces.

Caddie Tip

Be mindful of wind direction on exposed holes and play conservatively around water hazards, particularly as nearly half the holes bring water into play. Favor the safe side on greens as many are elevated and well-defended. On the 7th, respect the large beach bunker and play to position rather than force a risky drive.

The Main Challenge

The greatest challenge comes from water in play on 15 holes, numerous forced carries, and small, elevated, well-bunkered greens. Players must manage aggressive shot shaping to avoid hazards, especially during windy afternoons. The back nine can be particularly punishing under tournament pressure.

The Good

Golfers consistently praise the course’s outstanding conditions, strategic water features, and elite tournament pedigree. The par 3s and signature beach bunker on the 7th stand out, while the seamless blending of natural wetlands and mature trees provides a memorable championship experience.

The Not So Good

The most common complaints focus on its housing-lined fairways and lack of secluded holes. Some find the design modern and less characterful compared to more natural layouts. Peak times can result in crowded practice areas and slower rounds, especially during tournament season.

Signature Hole:

#

7

No items found.

The par 4 7th hole is famed for its Arnold Palmer signature beach bunker. This short but strategic hole tempts players to drive the green but exacts a penalty for errant shots, thanks to expansive water and one of the most visually striking bunkers on the property.

Clubhouse

No items found.

Members have access to fine and casual dining, a modern golf shop, expansive locker rooms, banquet and event rooms, as well as social and junior golf programs. Facilities are well-maintained and tailored for relaxation or business needs.

Practice Facilities
