
Tom Clark developed nearly two dozen golf courses for just one developer, Cooper Communities, including fourteen courses across two massive projects in Arkansas.
Tom Clark, born in 1948 in Broomall, Pennsylvania, is a highly experienced golf course architect with a career spanning over 50 years. After graduating from Penn State University in 1971 with a degree in Landscape Architecture, he joined the Maryland-based firm of Edmund B. Ault, Ltd. and became a partner in the reorganized Ault, Clark & Associates, Ltd. Over his career, Tom has had primary responsibility for designing and remodeling more than 100 courses and has worked on over 500 projects across the eastern U.S. and internationally.
Clark is known for practical and thoughtful designs, with notable projects including TPC Avenel and numerous courses in the mid-Atlantic region like Blue Ridge Shadows, Pleasant Valley, and River Creek. His work often features strategic use of land contours, environmental sensitivities, and a strong collaborative approach to construction and maintenance. He remains active in the industry, with recent projects such as the Battlefield par-three course at Shangri-La Resort in Oklahoma showcasing his continued innovation.
