Course Report
Tunica National offers one of the only indoor, climate-controlled clay tennis centers in the South, featuring Hydro-Grid Har-Tru courts visible from the clubhouse.
About
Tunica National Golf & Tennis is a top public course in northwest Mississippi, designed by PGA Tour pro Mark McCumber. The course offers Champion Bermuda greens and rolling zoysia fairways, set amid the region's resort and casino atmosphere. With six tee boxes, generous landing areas, and a tournament-level layout, the course is welcoming yet challenging for all skill levels.
Caddie Tip
Stay below the hole on approach shots as the Champion Bermuda greens run quick and have subtle undulations. Take advantage of generous fairways but beware of well-placed water hazards. Bring your best short game, especially during windy conditions when approaches can be hard to judge.
The Main Challenge
The toughest part of the course is managing the wind on exposed holes and negotiating well-placed water hazards throughout. The final stretch features narrow fairways and exacting approach shots, requiring precision and nerve to finish a good score.
The Good
Golfers praise the pristine condition of the Champion Bermuda greens and the overall maintenance of the course. The welcoming layout with wide landing areas and a true, fair challenge for a range of handicaps is repeatedly cited as a highlight, as are the outstanding practice facilities and friendly, professional staff.
The Not So Good
Some golfers note that the surroundings are relatively flat and could use more dramatic landscaping to enhance the overall atmosphere. Occasional slow pace of play during busy casino weekends, and feedback sometimes asks for even greater challenge from the rough or added unique design elements.
