Course Report

Wilderness Club is ranked in the Top 60 public golf courses in America by Golf Digest and has twice been recognized as Montana’s top-ranked golf experience.

About

The Wilderness Club in Eureka, Montana, was designed by Sir Nick Faldo and is consistently rated as the #1 golf course in Montana. Set within 550 acres of picturesque Rocky Mountain woodlands, the resort offers a championship-caliber 18-hole layout praised for its design variety, stunning mountain views, and impeccable conditioning. The experience balances challenging strategy with a welcoming atmosphere for all golfers.

Caddie Tip

Hit fairways to set up manageable approaches—misses can be punished by deep, natural bunkers and strategic hazards. Bring your best iron game for the variety of green complexes, and keep an eye on shifting wind through the back nine. The greens tend to run fast and true, demanding careful touch throughout your round.

The Main Challenge

The most formidable test at Wilderness Club is its demanding stretch of finishing holes, where fast greens and natural hazards converge with shifting winds. Fairways are generous but recovery from wayward shots is tough due to deep bunkers and thick native rough. Course management and precise approach play are required for a good score.

The Good

Golfers rave about the breathtaking mountain scenery on nearly every hole, with pristine forests and natural water features making each round unforgettable. The course design offers a mix of inviting fairways and strategic shot-making, making it a favorite for both casual and serious players looking for an idyllic Montana escape.

The Not So Good

Some guests have noted limited dining options and would appreciate more robust food and beverage services, especially during peak periods. A few also mention that, due to the remote location, tee times can book up fast during summer weekends, and course amenities such as practice areas could benefit from periodic updates.
