Course Report

The course is built atop a former ski resort and offers some of the most dramatic elevation changes and views in the region, including sweeping vistas of the Philadelphia skyline.

About

Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia is an exclusive private course designed by Tom Fazio, set atop the highest point in southern New Jersey. Featuring panoramic views of the Philadelphia skyline, the 18-hole, par-71 layout stretches over 7,400 yards through rolling, wooded terrain. Known for its strategic design and excellent conditioning, it offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for members.

Caddie Tip

Local knowledge is critical on the severely sloped greens and hilly fairways. On the signature 14th, favor the left side off the tee to open up the green and avoid heavy rough. Pay careful attention to wind directions, which can be deceiving from the elevated tees.

The Main Challenge

The course’s greatest challenge lies in its elevation changes, tough slopes, and deep, fast greens. Water hazards on three holes and thickly wooded doglegs demand precise shotmaking and club selection. The combination of length, wind exposure, and persistent strategic questions make it a formidable test, especially from the back tees.

The Good

Golfers love the panoramic views over the Philadelphia skyline and the dramatic elevation changes throughout the routing. The Tom Fazio design offers a diverse and memorable set of holes, striking a balance between challenge and playability, with strong risk-reward options and beautifully conditioned surfaces.

The Not So Good

Access is strictly limited to members and their guests, and some golfers note the overall challenging layout can be punishing for higher handicaps. The rough can be thick and penal, and a few holes may feel tight—especially when the course is playing firm and fast.

Signature Hole:

Elevated views and strategic bunkering make this a dramatic and challenging test for golfers of all skill levels.
