Course Report

Aldarra was constructed on the original site of the Boeing family farm and is Tom Fazio’s only Pacific Northwest design, making it a unique destination for golf enthusiasts in the region.

About

Aldarra Golf Club is a private, Tom Fazio-designed course located on the scenic former Boeing family farm in Sammamish, Washington. Opened in 2001, the 18-hole, par-71 layout meanders through rolling terrain, wetlands, and old growth timber with panoramic views of Mt. Si and the Cascades. Famed for its pristine conditions and core golf experience.

Caddie Tip

Accuracy off the tee is crucial, as the fairways are well-protected by natural hazards and strategic bunkers. Favor the safe side on approach shots and carefully judge elevation changes throughout the round. The greens are subtle but quick, so carefully read breaks and stay below the hole when possible.

The Main Challenge

Aldarra tests players with narrow, rolling fairways bordered by old growth trees and challenging bunkering. Players must manage numerous elevation changes and approach shots into well-guarded, sloped greens. Precision iron play, strategic thinking, and touch on fast, undulating greens are essential.

The Good

Golfers love the pure core golf experience at Aldarra—there are no homes along the fairways, only pristine nature and classic Tom Fazio architecture. Superb course condition is consistently highlighted, along with the peaceful, private ambiance and beautiful mountain scenery.

The Not So Good

Aldarra’s exclusivity and private nature mean that access is very limited, which can be frustrating for non-members hoping to play it. Some feedback also notes that significant rainfall in the region can lead to soggy ground, occasionally impacting playability during wetter months.
