Course Report

The course weaves through 525 wooded acres and many holes enjoy views of the tranquil Lake Kadashan—making it a true woodland retreat near Tulsa.

About

The Golf Club of Oklahoma, designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio in 1982, is a private 18-hole championship parkland course set on 525 scenic wooded acres in Broken Arrow. Renowned for its challenging layout, five sets of tees, manicured fairways, and greens that overlook Lake Kadashan, it provides both beauty and strategic intrigue for members.

Caddie Tip

Avoid attacking back pins on 15, the signature par 3—landing on the correct tier is vital. Throughout the course, strategic placement off the tee is rewarded over brute force. Play conservatively when in doubt, especially on approaches to elevated or multi-tiered greens to minimize big numbers.

The Main Challenge

The strategic Fazio design demands accurate shot placement, especially off the tee and into heavily protected, multi-tiered greens. Lengthy holes, strict penalty for misses, and regularly quick, undulating greens ensure that even skilled golfers must manage risk-reward play on every shot. Water hazards and dense woods lurk throughout the layout.

The Good

Members love the secluded, natural setting that makes each hole feel like its own unique adventure. The diverse routing and well-kept greens create a memorable, championship-caliber experience. Many appreciate the privacy of an invitation-only club and the views of Lake Kadashan from several holes.

The Not So Good

Players have commented on the course's challenge for higher handicaps, sometimes citing difficult rough and narrow approaches as being punishing rather than fun. During the wetter months, drainage can be an issue, resulting in softer fairways and slower pace of play in select areas.

15
